Virtual colonoscopy is bad news!

I had a virtual colonoscopy several months ago. The results were unclear due to a blockage. The consultant said that it was a functional problem, that I had to keep my bowels moving and promptly discharged me. This procedure delayed my healthcare as another hospital were refusing to allow further investigations. My new consultant was persistant and eventually I had another scan that led to the colonoscopy in May 2010 that ultimately showed the chronic inflammation in my colon.

It is no surprise that insurance companies are reluctant to pay for virtual colonoscopies and my opinion is avoid virtual colonoscopies!
